Friedhelm’s horse on wheels pays tribute to Margarete’s great-nephew and former managing director Friedhelm Steiff, who was given a horse on wheels for Christmas 1939. Measuring 60 cm / 24 inches, it was his favourite childhood toy. As he once recalled: “I used to groom him, brush his mane and give him plenty to drink”. Apart than being 32 cm / 12.8 inches high, Friedhelm’s horse on wheels is faithful to the original and there will be 939 best friends in all!
