Thanks to Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt, Steiff have always felt a close connection with the USA. In 1913, on the occasion of the presidential election in the United States, Richard Steiff designed “Dolly”, a Teddy bear in the national colors. Until 1918, there were four color variations with the head always remaining white.
