designer: Maximilian Schmahl | 2016 material: mirror polished stainless steel size: 31 x 30 x h. 7 cm / 12½ x 11¾ x h. 2¾ inches condition: brand new and complete with original box Relax, it's just a crack! Intentional! The Broken Bowl fruit basket arouses interest from the very first glance, thanks to its unusual shape reminiscent of a half-cracked bowl. In doing so, the basket's designer, Maximilian Schmahl, literally breaks with the tradition of a closed vessel serving as a bowl by offering an 'open' version. What is more, the bowl, which is divided along its diameter with a high rim, still works well as a vessel for storing fruit, serving bread, etc. The design of the Broken Bowl thus proves that it is not the ideal objects with a familiar, archetypal form that remain in our memory for longer, but those that allow us to look at them from a new perspective. The bowl is made of stainless steel.
