A set of five delightful miniature mohair friends, inspired from the drawings made by Richard Steiff at the Stuttgart Zoo. While a student at the School of Art in Stuttgart, he would often visit the nearby zoo, always taking his sketch book with him. All of his sketches and studies of the animals were extremely lifelike and clearly illustrate Richard´s fascination and great interest in animal´s stances and movements. Posture and pose is something Richard detailed extensively in his sketches.

The Steiff zoo set is made of high-quality mohair, and where necessary is skilfully cropped giving the animals their realistic and unmistakable look.























The set includes: a giraffe (16 cm / 6.4 inches), brown bear (15 cm / 6 inches), elephant (14.5 cm / 5.8 inches), lion (17 cm / 6.8 inches) and camel (17 cm / 6.8 inches).

All of these gorgeous miniature wild animals are wearing the famous gold plated Button in Ear. Worldwide limited edition of 1,000 pieces. The collector box of the Zoo set opens to a heavy cardboard Zoo display in full color!
