Last piece of the Steiff pull-along animals ... the crowning glory of this series!
The first Steiff pull-along animals date back as early as 1890. This Lion is based on an original design from 1909. Two years later, a royal order was even placed by King Wilhelm II of Wuerttemberg for one of these lions along with a whole host of other animals for his grandchildren.







Having reclaimed its throne, the pull-along King of Beasts is once again made with the loving attention to detail and carefully selected materials. The Lion's wheels are made of cast iron, its eyes are genuine glass and its body is stuffed with wood shavings (excelsior). Even the pull-the-cord voice is faithful to the original.

With a faraway expression on its face, the pull-along Lion is the crowning of this series and he is sure to be the crowning glory of any collection!
